The
City of Los Angeles envisions the day that every animal born is ensured a good
home and good care. The Department of Animal Services is looking for one
Veterinarian who desires to be part of our team by providing quality care to
animals in the City’s animal care centers. We value the integrity of every

DUTIES
A
Veterinarian diagnoses and gives first aid treatment, including surgery, to
animals in the care and custody of the Department of Animal Services; assigns,
reviews, and evaluates the work of employees assisting in the above work;
advises the public and Department employees on matters within the field of
veterinary medicine; and exercises medical judgment and skill in the
independent performance of these responsibilities, applying current veterinary
medical principles. This position will not be required to conduct spay and
neuter surgeries.
REQUIREMENTS
· Doctor’s degree in veterinary medicine from an
accredited veterinary school.
· Valid California State License to practice
Veterinary medicine.
· Valid California driver’s license is required
for all positions and must be maintained throughout employment.
SALARY:
Salary
commensurate with experience up to $152,904.24 annually. Medical and dental
benefits provided.
Cash retention bonuses
available after six months ($1,000) and year two ($4,000) in accordance with
the provisions of the current labor agreement.
