DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SENIOR STOREKEEPER

The duties of the Senior Storekeeper include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, assign, direct and inspect the work of Delivery Drivers, Warehouse and Toolroom Worker, Messenger Clerks, Senior Event Attendant and Event Attendants in the Shipping and Receiving Department of Central Library and the Mid Valley Shipping and Receiving hub.
  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor delivery of packages, books, flyers, supplies, forms and other materials for delivery to different library agencies/branches and other City Departments. 
  • Responsible for storing, distributing, and accounting for daily deliveries of books. materials and supplies.
  • Manage warehouse operations and comply with operating procedures 
  • Establishes new and revised policies, procedures and control procedures to assure the security of warehouse stock and other items located at warehouse locations.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and equipment. 
  • Supervise regular physical inventories of all stock items.
  • Responsible for staff training including proper use of equipment, safety, and maintenance of the shipping dock/area.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training in safe work practices, storage of hazardous materials and applicable regulations. 

How to apply

This is a citywide transfer position. As such, all candidates must be current city employees who either are currently be in the class of Senior Storekeeper and have passed their 6-month probationary period OR candidates must have previously been appointed to the Senior Storekeeper classification and have completed their probation.
