The Department of Fire and Police Pensions has two vacant positions for Management Assistant in-lieu in the Disability Pensions Section. The Management Assistant positions will have contact with disability and survivor benefit applicants, private attorneys and law firms, various City Departments, Workers’ Compensation representatives, union representatives, City Attorneys, Fire, Police and Personnel Department employees.
Summary of duties are listed below:
•Develops the adjudicative record relied upon by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to act on disability retirements.
•Composes Board Reports outlining the facts of a claim and formulates recommendations.
•Assembles commission hearing packages and attends Board hearings as a staff representative.
Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions is a fast-paced work environment that offers a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule, parking on site, and a college tuition reimbursement program. LAFPP has also implemented a hybrid telecommuting schedule that allows for a minimum of two (2) in-office workdays per week. This hybrid schedule is subject to change.
