The Los Angeles Department of Aging (LADOA) is seeking
a Project Assistant (Class Code 1542) to serve as one of the coordinators in
our Older Worker Employment Program (OWEP) and Senior Community Services
Employment Program (SCSEP) initiatives. These programs provide paid, subsidized
training to unemployed, low-income older adults (ages 55 years and older), with
a focus on serving individuals experiencing or at risk of experiencing
homelessness. Program participants received subsidized on-the-job training at
local non-profits and government agencies to build their skills and experience.
The Project Assistant will assist in outreach, recruitment, and placement of
OWEP/SCSEP trainees and will guide them through the program to help them
transition into unsubsidized employment.
