A Senior Civil Engineering Drafting Technician assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of drafting technicians engaged in the preparation and maintenance of civil and transportation engineering maps, designs drawings, and plans; performs and maintains project records; assists in the development, training and implementation of computer-aided drafting (CAD), geographic information systems (GIS) and drawing management systems, in compliance with drafting and design standards; manages media storage, retrieval and security data, electronic drawings and digital photo files; performs technical subprofessional engineering work in preparing designs, plans, specifications, and estimates; prepares complex civil and transportation engineering plans on CAD; provides engineering information relative to proposed work to engineers, contractors and the general public; applies sound supervisory standards and techniques in building and maintaining an effective workforce; and fulfills Equal Employment Opportunity responsibilities.
