The Department of Animal Services is seeking to fill two Senior Administrative Clerk positions in Shelter Operations via lateral transfer.

DUTIES

The Department of Animal Services is a very dynamic department in need of highly effective communicators who are adaptable and exhibit good leadership skills to work in the animal care centers. As the Senior Administrative Clerk, you will gain comprehensive experience in coordinating and supervising a staff of Administrative Clerks, part-time clerical staff and some volunteers. You will also be able to hone your skills in exercising independent judgment in complex situations. 

In addition to the normal duties of a Senior Administrative Clerk, such as filing, writing correspondences, managing the front counter, and answering phones, you will also have the opportunity to assist citizens in the management of animals. This includes selling licenses, processing adoption of animals, and processing the redemption of animals.

The Senior Administrative Clerks will initially be assigned to the West Valley or North Central animal care center, and must be willing to work at various locations throughout the City; weekends and occasional holidays.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must currently have a regular appointment as Senior Administrative Clerk or have status in the class of Senior Administrative Clerk.
