The Department of Animal Services is seeking to fill one Management Assistant for the Department’s Budget Section.


This Management Assistant will provide support in preparing and monitoring the Department's annual budget; develop funding proposals; conduct research; prepare correspondence and respond to requests for budget information. The incumbent will prepare monthly Financial Status Reports; evaluate budget and expenditure status; identify account surpluses and shortfalls; monitor employment and payroll records; summarize expenditure and revenue status; prepare requests for account transfers; and monitor and report special fund balances. This position may also develop requests for proposals, information, bids and quotes; conduct outreach to bidders and subcontractors; conduct pre-bid conferences; provide recommendations; develop and draft contracts; and complete contract requirements.


Must currently be a Management Assistant or have status in the class (regular appointment).


A valid California driver’s license is required.
