The Department of Animal Services is seeking to
fill one Director of Field Operations position via emergency appointment to
oversee the Citywide Cat Program.
DUTIES
The Director of Field Operations will provide
professional management and oversight of the Citywide Cat Program; develop
strategies to meet program objectives; implement Department policies on the Citywide
Cat Program and provide recommendations for improvements; work with the City
Attorney to ensure legal mandates to the program's operation are followed; and review
and approve Citywide Cat Program applications. This position will work with
non-profit organizations to expand community services and participation in the
program; respond to inquiries from partner organizations, members of the
community and other City departments; develop and manage data entry
spreadsheets; and generate reports with services metrics. The incumbent will also
represent the Department at public meetings, including the Board of Animal
Services Commissioners and City Council.
REQUIREMENTS
Three
years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles as a Senior
Animal Control Officer; or
Five
years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles as an Animal
Care Technician Supervisor; or
Three
years of full-time paid experience supervising staff engaged in enforcing laws
and regulations, or ordinances for a public agency, or enforcing animal
regulations; or
Three
years of full-time paid experience managing an animal shelter.
LICENSE
A valid California driver’s license is
required.
