RATE OF PAY:           $22.08 - $24.06 (determined by academic standing)

JOB LOCATION:       Downtown Los Angeles/Civic Center

WORK HOURS:     Work schedule may vary between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Monday – Friday (not to exceed 29.5 hours per week nor 999 hours within a service year). Start and end times is at the discretion of the Division Manager or designee, to accommodate operational needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Fiscal System Specialist, the Administrative Intern performs clerical accounting duties in reviewing and reconciling accounting records and reports or payroll and timekeeping documents. In addition, the Administrative Intern will draft administrative guidelines, policies, and procedures and conduct individual and group training and testing of databases. The ideal candidate must understand basic arithmetic calculations and appraise their accuracy according to established criteria and standards.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate collecting and interpreting data from accounting records and reports or payroll and timekeeping documents and verifying their accuracy; enters adjusting entries as necessary according to pre-existing policies and procedures.
  • Create an administrator’s guide on performing ongoing maintenance and support of the system; draft related policies and procedures that meet established format and requirements.
  • Conduct end-user training one-on-one or in a group setting.
  • Participate in testing the new payroll system, which includes keying in scenarios and testing results against the expected results, documenting and reporting any anomalies.
  • Create a schedule of deliverables and meet all deadlines.
  • Provide regular reports of the progress, challenges, and recommendations to the Division Manager of the Member Stewardship Division and the Fiscal Systems Specialist.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of three years of education in a recognized four-year college or university or must have Senior standing at the time of hire; or
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States
