At Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) - a Building Operating Engineer (BOE) operates, maintains and repairs high pressure steam boilers, cooling towers, and large refrigeration machines that produce heating and air conditioning for all the buildings in the Central Terminal Area (CTA).  The BOE operates and maintains the co-generation system that produces electricity. The BOE personally responds to complaints and emergency calls from the tenants.

Notes:
Candidate must possess a valid unrestricted CA Driver’s License, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 Universal Certification, Unlimited Steam Engineer's License, Steam Turbine Endorsement License, the ability to work well with coworkers and customers, attention to detail, as well as the ability to remain alert and responsive, and maintain a regular attendance are all job requirements for this position.  Candidate may be required to work various shifts in order to meet operational needs. Employee must be able to operate a City vehicle during the course of employment. An active LAWA Security Badge with US Customs Seal and AOA Driver icons are required at all times.
