Serve as the primary timekeeper and administrative support staff for the Police Training and Education (PTE). The PTE is responsible for the design and development of training curricula and courses for the Department, assists and facilitates the implementation of the training programs. To support the high volume of work in PTE, the Senior Administrative Clerk performs difficult clerical work of a responsible nature, requiring the use of independent judgment and a good knowledge of the training and educational functions that PTE performs. The SAC also may assist in front desk duties and perform work to support the PTE Director such as scheduling and coordinating meetings, and perform related work including receptionist duties, interprets general policies concerning types of information that may be given, furnishes callers with information about PTE functions, procedures and activities, maintains PTE Director’s appointment calendar and arranges for appointments and meetings, prepare and submit projects that are timekeeping related, prepare simple memos or correspondence, takes minutes of meetings and conferences, reads and routes incoming correspondence, and maintains files and records. In addition, the SAC is the primary support staff for the Administration Section and assigned to assist the Admin OIC in coordinating projects and submittals to ensure work is done expeditiously and project due dates are met, and in coordinating training conferences or sessions such as LEADS and PAC, coordinate vacation schedules and time off to ensure coverage is maintained.
