This Accounting Clerk position in the Controller’s Office Management Services Division is responsible for processing accounting transactions for the Office of the Controller.
Processes payments, cash receipts and procurement orders;
Sets up contract authorities and encumbrances;
Coordinates and processes travel related documents;
Strong computer skills, including the ability to prepare and formulate spreadsheets;
Organizes and keep track of accounting records, both physically and virtually;
Processes other FMS transactions, i.e. vendor creation/maintenance, Work Order set up, and etc.;
Manages purchasing card records;
Orders office supplies for the department;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Have a working knowledge of the City’s payment process. The ideal candidates should work well independently under minimal supervision, and possess:
Working knowledge of FMS and InfoAdvantage preferred;
Provide excellent customer service;
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines;
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team;
Attention to details;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Applications will be accepted from individuals at least the level of Administrative Clerk with two years of office experience, including one year performing clerical accounting, cashiering or bookkeeping work. Successful completion of a college level course in bookkeeping or accounting from a recognized college or university may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
