At LAWA, a Carpenter Supervisor assigned to the Construction section oversees large maintenance and construction projects that include installation, maintenance and repair of field and building facilities including programs for terminal remodels, bathroom replacement/remodels, and office building remodels. The Carpenter Supervisor serves as the front-line supervisor to crews and other employees engaged in skilled rough and finish carpentry in building, construction, repairing, and maintenance work; applies sound supervisory principles and techniques in building and maintaining an effective work force; and determines material and staffing needs for specific projects. The Carpenter Supervisor is directly responsible for the efficiency, interpretation, and enforcement of LAWA policies and procedures; and fulfills equal employment opportunity responsibilities.
• The selected candidate must be able to meet LAWA's badge requirements, possess and maintain a valid CA Driver License, and be able to operate a City vehicle at all times during employment.
*Four years of full-time paid experience as a Carpenter or Cabinetmaker or in a class at that level performing finished woodworking or skilled carpentry in building and repairing structures and similar articles.
