Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Payroll Section – Payroll Unit, is seeking a Transfer opportunity for a Management Analyst with Payroll and HR experience to supervise Payroll Supervisors and Accounting Clerks. To plan, delegate, instruct, motivates, and controls the work of subordinates. To promote effective safety principles and practices. To provide training to Payroll staff and to other divisions within the Department on all aspects of payroll activities including the preparation and development of training materials. To monitor subordinate performance and check for accuracy and errors.

Responsible for the verification of Form 41 documents upon receipt from Human Resources Division. Ensures that the payroll calculations, and PaySr adjustments are accurate and completed in a timely manner.  Prepares  Form 41 adjustments as needed.  Processes W-4 changes for LAWA employees for Controllers Office.  Process Mileage Reimbursements and Gas Bonus per MOU provisions. Reviews and proofreads/edits overpayment notification letters for consistency and accuracy.

Coordinates with the Controller's Office and other City departments to resolve payroll issues. Supervise retro adjustments, emergency checks, IOD, mileage, over-payments, and other processes related to payroll.

Assists in the development, improvement, and implementation of new policies, procedures, disciplines, and practices relating to payroll matters. Responsible for payroll closing, which involves researching and correcting Pay Calc Errors, LD-Time Errors and employee time sheet approvals. May occasionally be assigned to other duties for training purposes or to meet technological changes or emergencies.
