At Los Angeles World Airports, Maintenance Services Unit, an Equipment Specialist II will research and prepare specifications for vehicles, construction equipment, shop tools, and all other major complex special equipment items for the department. Track all vehicle and equipment purchases through all phases of the purchasing process. Oversee and coordinate preparation of new equipment for use; assign vehicle numbers.
Review all procurement documents to establish yearly orders and contracts. Evaluate and analyze bids, recommend award of contracts and attend and represent the division at pre-bid conferences.
Communicate with vendors and various divisions on vehicle and equipment purchasing and specification issues. Responsible for the preparation of all reports to the Board of Airport Commissioners involving vehicles, construction equipment, shop tools, and other equipment items. Prepare various correspondence and reports. Inspect equipment for compliance with specifications.
