TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY FOR TWO (2) MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (In lieu of Management Analyst) POSITION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES – OFFICE OF THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • This position is open to all current Management Assistants in the City of Los Angeles who have successfully completed probation in that class. Ideal candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of change management, departmental procurement and contracting process and technology, policy research and development, and proficiency in the Google productivity suite.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, provide creative solutions, work independently and within a team environment, pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, do appropriate follow-up, work well under pressure and maintain an enthusiastic work ethic.
  • Assist in the development of procurement tools and resources to help standardize and streamline procurement processes, including the development of job aids, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), developing city standard and customized templates, and make recommendations and draft new city-wide procurement policies.
  • Support the development process of the City’s upcoming Regional Marketplace by working with ITA and the CPO to implement best practices and business needs in the system. 
  • Acts as the team lead in working with the outreach and marketing contractor, ensuring that the contractor has access to departmental contacts and is executing the CPO’s vision.
  • Coordination support, including developing presentations, developing and maintaining project plans, conducting department outreach to support multiple department engagements, and assisting with cross-functional team projects, including meeting facilitation and follow-up.


This position is located at the Civic Center, Los Angeles, California 90012. The position will be telecommuting for the foreseeable future. 5/40 is preferred, but a 9/80 can be negotiated
