The responsibilities of an Interview Specialist include the following interview rater duties: chairing an interview board, ensuring participation by all interview board members, monitoring questions for job-relatedness, managing the interviews to provide candidates with the opportunity to present their qualifications, evaluating candidates in conjunction with one or more co-raters against uniform rating criteria, and maintaining interview time schedules.

Additional duties of an Interview Specialist include conducting in-person and virtual interviews. You will be responsible for ensuring that all interview board members are following COVID-19 protocols (i.e., abiding social distancing guidelines and wearing masks) when conducting in-person interviews. In regard to virtual interviews, Interview Specialists will be responsible for possessing a laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private location to conduct interviews.

Note: Work assignments are on an “as-needed” basis as this is a part-time position. The number of assignments varies widely based on the City’s examination schedule. Some months may have a heavy schedule and, as a result, have numerous work assignments, and other months may have no assignments.

1. Four-year degree from a recognized college or University; AND
2. Paid professional experience in interviewing job applicants, counseling individuals, or interviewing individuals to obtain information.
