Plans and directs a comprehensive of real property acquisition, leasing, development, appraisal, and management in a department. Manages and directs a staff of administrative and technical real estate employees engaged in the area of title work, escrow, appraisal, negotiation, relocation, and exchange or disposal of real property and the management of non-operating properties. Specific ongoing projects include disposal of properties for community and housing projects; Acquisition of properties such as for the Clean Water Campus, Larchmont property, and LAPD warehouse. Attends Council Committees Meetings, Council Meetings, and Bond Oversight Committee Meetings. Consults with City Departments and Council offices regarding real estate activities. Assign staff on a part of the planning and organizing of the real estate program, directs staff training, the preparation of reports, work performance, and disciplinary control. Performs the most difficult and complex real estate work.
