salary: $62,389 – $98,658

A degree from an accredited four-year college or university with completion of 24 semester or 36 quarter units in any of the following:

  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science

If you don’t have a four-year degree

  • Have completed a two-year program in information technology (IT) from an accredited college or trade school with at least 12 semester, or 18 quarter units of IT coursework
  • Worked full-time for two years performing systems or programming tasks in a professional IT environment

helicopter mechanic

ABOUT THIS JOB

In this role, you will inspect, repair, overhaul, service, and return all City-owned helicopters to service.

$98,845 (flat-rated)

A 5.5% bonus is paid for possessing an FAA Inspection Authorization.  Some positions require night work, for which a higher salary is paid. Salary range is subject to change. Confirm your starting salary prior to accepting a job offer.

TO APPLY, You must have all of the following:

  • Three years of full-time paid experience as an FAA Certified Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic. Two of those years must have been within the past three years
  • All valid experience must have taken place on one or more of the following turbine powered helicopters: Bell 407, Bell 206 series, Bell 412, Eurocopter AS 350 Series (EC130), and/or Agusta AW 139 and also include:
  • FAR Part 91 or Part 135 Inspections
  • Electrical and mechanical, repair, and troubleshooting activities
  • Sheet metal repairs on air frames
  • Major component overhaul or repair
  • Approving aircraft for return to service after service completion

ELECTRIC STATION OPERATOR

ABOUT THIS JOB

This role is a two-year apprenticeship program, during which you will work on high voltage electric and auxiliary equipment. On the job and in the classroom, you will learn how to conduct routine inspections, clean equipment, read meters, and prepare reports and documentation. After successfully completing the apprenticeship, you will obtain civil service status.

salary: $60,823 – $115,696

  • Successful completion of one year of high school level course work in physics, chemistry, electricity, or electronics

  • Successful completion of three semester units or four quarter units from an accredited college or university or trade school in physics, chemistry, electricity, or electronics
  • Successful completion of the Hayden or Delmar Electricity course sponsored by the Department of Water and Power
